We are somehow certain that wedding bells maybe ringing for us that is if God allows us to be together as one. We were then dicussing (sometime last year - 2007) when we should hold our wedding. Naturally, we started flipping through the calenders and see what are the dates of Saturdays that sounds nice and meaningful to us. Ah ah! 21 June 2010... the day which marks our 6th year of togetherness.
We went on further to search online "tong shu" to check if the date is "yi" for marriage. =( Sad to say, it isn't and is stated as 'xiong'. We consoled each other and say that it may not be so accurate as the actual 'tong shu' will only be out a year before.
In the midst of dicussion, Ter must be thinking that he should not wait that long for me to be his wife, so he said that we should hold it in year 2009, a year after he graduates. Sometime in Feb, Claudia jie asked me to go bridal studio (BS) shopping with her. Haa... that was when the whole wedding mood got into me and I started my research through online forums (http://www.singaporebrides.com/ & http://www.styleweddings.sg/)...
Read through and did lots of homework for BS and eventually signed up a package with Whitelink (Claudia jie's BS) in the 1st quarter of 2008. Being 'kaisu' Singaporeans, we went on to search for our banquet venue.
We initially wanted Raffles Hotel or Four Seasons although the price per table is kinda way over our budget but we thought perahps we can reduce the number of tables we have to accomadate. Both Ter and I went to visit those venues and spoke to the coordinators. A few was finally listed.
- Four Seasons Hotel
- Poeny Jade Restaurant
- Hilton Hotel
- Mandarin Oriental
After intensive reading on the forums, we decided Madarin Oriental after speaking to our friendly coordinator, Sandy. We've paid the deposit, with both side's parents help, sometime in April 2008.
After settling the date (we are not going to reveal for now!), I have confirmed with my Whitelink (WL) coordinator, Irene, my photographer (PG) for my photoshoot (PS) and my make up artist (MUA) for the actual day (AD).
It's so exciting! There are so much more to prepare but I think we have ample time to make our dream wedding come true.
Stay tune to find out more about our preparation. =)
